What is an endowment gift and how is it used?

Endowment gifts are invested to generate earnings over time. We preserve the principal (corpus) and use a portion of annual earnings to fund grants and essential operations that advance our mission.

Do you accept corporate matching gifts and sponsorships?

Absolutely. We can verify your gift for employer matching and coordinate mission-aligned sponsorships connected to our community initiatives. Ask us about matching paperwork or custom partnership ideas.

What major event do we run?

The Cologuard Classic by Exact Sciences, a PGA TOUR Champions tournament in Tucson that supports colon cancer awareness and Southern Arizona youth sports.

How do organizations apply for funding?

Eligible nonprofits serving Southern Arizona youth athletics can submit a grant request through our Grants page. You’ll find eligibility criteria, required documents, and current timelines there. We prioritize programs that remove financial barriers for kids.

How do you apply for funding for a youth sports program?

Submit a funding application by the 15th of the month to be considered on the next month’s agenda; decisions are typically communicated by the 15th of the following month.

Is the Foundation a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization?

The Foundation maintains a corporate identity and state recognition as an Arizona non-profit organization, in good standing with the Arizona Corporation Commission. The Foundation maintains it status as a Section 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, compliant with the Internal Revenue Service requirements.

How do you apply for funding for a youth sports program?

Need funding for your organization? Here are answers to the questions we get asked most often, covering our timeline, eligibility, and application requirements.

How long does the funding process take?

The funding process typically takes 4-6 weeks from the time a completed application is received, and a decision is made by our Funding Committee and Board of Directors tricia@tucsonconquistadores.com.

When must I submit my application to hear back the following month?

All Applications must be submitted by the 15th of the month prior to be considered the following month. For example, for the funds to be received at the end of October the application must be submitted September 15th. We encourage applicants to apply several months before your event or program is to take place. up at the Tucson Conquistadores office on Tuesday or Thursday between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM located at 3320 N Campbell Ave Suite 200, Tucson, AZ 85719 (Campbell/Ft. Lowell)

If an application is approved, how will funds be received?

Once approved, Tucson Conquistadores will notify the awardee via email or phone. A check will be made payable to the address provided on the application. sold. EXAMPLE: 100 tickets requested, 80 SOLD: return 80 ticket stubs, $800 AND 20 unsold tickets…you receive 70% of $800 = $560 Plus, the organization that sells the winning car raffle ticket will receive a $500 bonus.

How many applications may be submitted?

Tucson Conquistadores accepts one application per fiscal year from an organization, our fiscal year begins on July 1st and ends June 30th.

Do I need to reapply for the same program/event every year?

Yes, we require a unique application each fiscal year, even if it is for the same event or program.

What kinds of organizations are eligible to receive funding?

Our core mission is to support underserved youth and special needs athletes participating in Southern Arizona sports. Organizations with nonprofit status in good standing are encouraged to apply. Please note that all applications are reviewed at the sole discretion of Tucson Conquistadores. We reserve the right to accept or decline any application and modify eligibility criteria at any time. Grant amounts vary annually and are determined by proceeds from the Cologuard Classic by Exact Sciences.
